Senior associate attorney Elizabeth A. Hernandez specializes in medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury cases. Her practice areas also include sexual abuse and mass torts. She is admitted to practice law in California.


Active in the legal community, Ms. Hernandez serves as an Emeritus Board member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA). She is currently the Vice-Chair of CAALA’s Education Committee. She is also a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) and Co-Chair of CAOC’s Women’s Caucus Education Committee. Additionally, Ms. Hernandez is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Mexican American Bar Association. Being active in the general community is also important to Ms. Hernandez. She served as a Board member of the Evelyn Grace Foundation, a foundation which was created to support the fight against pediatric cancer, to raise more awareness and to raise money for research and assistance to families with children who are battling cancer. Ms. Hernandez has given of her time to assist with the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charity, which included cooking and serving food to the homeless at the Ocean Park Community Center (OPCC). In 2016, she attended the CAOC Inaugural Women’s Caucus Political Salon in Sacramento which led off the annual Justice Day Program. She was part of the committee that organized the Women’s Caucus Political Salon which included speakers such as State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, Assembly Member Cristina Garcia, State Controller Betty Yee, and Executive Secretary to Governor Brown, Nancy McFadden, who also worked for President Clinton. The firm was proud to support the event and Elizabeth for her contribution to a most successful program

Simona Danesh shares her commitment to health, human rights, and civil rights with Deacon Law and Co, in its pursuit of justice for victims of negligence and wrongdoing. Simona is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California and the Central District of California.


She is multilingual and has lived and worked extensively abroad. Her research on international health and human rights coupled with her global experiences gives her a unique perspective and understanding of complex issues.


When she is not practicing law, you may see her running a trail, practicing yoga, exploring a museum, or enjoying time with family and friends.

Davis Mikel , Of Counsel member at Deacon Law and Co, specializes in medical malpractice and personal injury law with an emphasis on written advocacy, including appeals, writs and law and motion work. He is certified in appellate law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He is also certified in medical malpractice law by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. Mr.Davis is admitted to practice in Illinois and California, as well as in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and in the United States Supreme Court.


Among his honors and awards, Mr.Davis was named Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles “Appellate Lawyer of the Year” and a Southern California Super Lawyer in Appellate Practice by Los Angeles magazine - 2014. Also, he has authored numerous published articles spanning more than two decades, as well as serving as Editor-in-Chief of Advocate from 1995 to 2002.

Paul John-Hamilton Carson is an associate at the law firm of Deacon Law and Co, with a focus on Labour, Employment, and immigrant work supplies and abuse cases. Paul earned his BA from the University of California at Los Angeles, majoring in Labour Law and minoring in Political Science. He later went on to earn his JD from Loyola Law School. He later earned a Phd in International Labour and immigration law From University of California , Paul is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of USA and a member of the Association of Labour Lawyers, as well as the Consumer Attorneys of California and American Association of Justice. In addition to being tasked with assisting the firm’s skilled trial attorneys, Paul assists with client relations and client facilitation.


In addition to his duties at the firm, Paul frequently spends time with his family in Northern California, and enjoys running and hiking. He is a patient humble and listening person.

Martin P. Weniz, is Of Counsel at Deacon and Co. His areas of practice include medical malpractice, personal injury, and elder/dependent adult abuse litigation. Mr. Weniz was trial and appellate counsel for plaintiff in the groundbreaking medical malpractice case of Mejia v. Community Hospital of San Bernardino. The Mejia case was the largest medical malpractice verdict in the State of California in the year it was tried, and it established important legal precedent in the State of California that a hospital will be held responsible to the patient for the malpractice of those physicians who practice at the hospital, even if the physician was not employed by the hospital at the time of the negligence. Mr. Weniz is a member of Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Consumer Attorneys of California, American Bar Association, and Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in the area of medical malpractice in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012
